I'm pretty new to computers and I've tried a few books and none of them was basic enough to help me out. This is the one that I turn to all the time for help when I get stuck. The examples are all relevant to seniors, and the instructions are clear. Highly recommended for any beginner, and especially the older crowd.

My Mom picked up this book just after buying her first laptop and found it very helpful to get going. You might think a laptop is just a computer in another form, but this book helps out with laptop-specific things like power management for these battery-operated gizmos and security when you travel around with your laptop. And, of course, it covers all the basics about using Windows and the Internet, as well. Great book for those learning their way around today's laptops. Highly recommended!
